Step 1: Go to the Income Tax e-filing website- Web-links are below
Pan With Aadhaar Link Through the UIDAI website:
Go to the UIDAI website.
- Click on the “Link PAN Aadhaar” tab.
- Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
- Click on the “Validate” button.
- Enter your name as per your Aadhaar card and mobile number.
- Click on the “Link PAN Aadhaar” button.
- You will receive an OTP on your mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and click on the “Validate” button.
- Your PAN and Aadhaar will be linked.
To link your PAN and Aadhaar card through SMS, you can follow these steps:
Type UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar number><SPACE><10-digit PAN number> and
send it to 567678 or 56161
For example: UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F
Important dates:
- The last date to link PAN with Aadhaar is 30 June 2023.
- If you do not link your PAN with Aadhaar by the due date, your PAN will become inoperative.
- You will not be able to use your PAN for any financial transactions, such as filing income tax returns, opening bank accounts, or buying insurance policies.
Late fee:
If you link your PAN with Aadhaar after the due date, you will have to pay a late fee of Rs. 1,000.
